Northwest
of Phnom Penh lies the famous cultural epicenter of Cambodia – Siem Reap. For
600 years the area around the provincial town of SIem Reap was the heart the
Khmer Empire.

Beyond Angkor Wat, there are many other temples to be discovered within the Angkor complex. The Bayon is best known for its massive stone faces carved into the sides of its towers which is one of the most iconic features associated with the ancient Khmer civilization and its architecture.
Cambodian Cultural Village located along National Road 6 with a total area of 210,000 meters square, the Cambodian Cultural Village assembles all the miniatures of famous historical buildings and structures, local customs and practices of all races originating in Cambodia. There are 10 unique villages, which tourists can enjoy with traditional dancing performances in different styles, such as Apsara dancing, a tradition Khmer wedding ceremony and a historical Angkor period show, “The Greatest King Jayvarman VII.” Performances of “Choose Fiance Show” and “Water and Fire Choosing Show.” Performances of minorities from northwest Cambodia include “Peacock Dancing,” while another stage highlights “Khantremming Dancing” of Khmer original people.

Angkor Silk Farm only
20 minutes from downtown Siem Reap, the Angkor Silk Farm offers free guided
tours of the process from the mulberry bushes cultivation to the production of
silk fabrics & accessories. As the Silk Farm covers an area of eight
hectares, of which five are used for the mulberry trees plantation, tourists
enjoy the beautiful setting while learning about the fascinating process of
silk-making.
Guides will give more
details on the mulberry trees, silkworm farming, cocoon unwinding, preparation
of the silk threads, ikat technique (tie-dyeing of the threads) and silk
weaving. The Angkor Silk Farm also features a large showroom where guests can
buy high-quality silk products that were made in the workshops.
